Since many of us are still working from home, home Wi-Fi security has become more important. There are many ways to increase the security of your home wireless network's security, these are my recommendations: 1. Change your router admin password from defaults 2. Perform firmware updates 3. Individualize your Wi-Fi name and set a secure Wi-Fi password 4. Enable “guest access” using separate credentials for guests 5. Disable WPS access on router 6. Advanced users may configure Firewall Settings
*Fun bonus tip for parents: Parental control can limit when kids can get on and what website they can visit or not visit To access you router settings on a browser type in the IP of the gateway, which in most cases is 192.168.1.1 (Click here to locate yours).
Making changes to your wireless network settings will require reconfiguring of Wi-Fi name and passwords on devices trying to connect to the network (your phone, computer, etc).
